ISO

This weekend just gone we were staying with friends in Solihull in Birmingham, my friend (F) is notoriously into her minimalist living and her house was an ideal location to practice shooting indoors. She has a lot of lovely pieces & the pure blank canvas-like walls were ideal backing for photographing these.

As they are only recently settled into this house the spare room has no curtains so Chap awoke as the sun came up at 5.15am! As it was P's turn for a lie in (why oh why?) I got up with Chap at day break, but actually this was great photographing time! It gave me great opportunity to play around with the ISO settings & exposure level to get the right light level in my pics. I managed to get some good ones.

Yesterday afternoon we met our adoptive nephew for the very first time, it was his 2nd Birthday and the family had a picnic to celebrate. Another great opportunity to practice with some quick snap-shots of the kids. I took most of them on fast shutter-speed on shutter priority but they came out well. My favourite picture of the whole is weekend is a picture I managed to snap of a lovely old chap on roller skates making his way around the lake in Cannon Hill Park. Priceless.
