Explore Somerset

This weekend we had family to stay so on Saturday we took a picnic and went off exploring the Somerset country side. We started a walk from Stockhill Forest near Priddy and set of up the public footpath to find the Nine Barrows, which are a series of 9 burial barrows from the Bronze Age. The barrows are on private property although public footpaths do run close to them & the farmers seem to allow walkers on their land to visit them. The Priddy Barrows are so unspoilt and mysterious, there is no signposting for them at all really which means that they are relatively untrodden and magical.

We took our kite and flew it from the barrows before enjoying a picnic and soaking in the view of the barrows. Here are my favourite pictures of the weekend:
